Have a tee time

You will need to reserve a tee time for most golf rounds that you will play. You can call the golf course a day before or earlier depending on the policy of the club. After reserving the tee time, it is important to get to the course at least 30 minutes in advance.

Dress the part

Most golf clubs have dress codes. You should find out the dress code of the course at which you are playing. Golf shoes are not required by most courses and you make the decision on whether to wear golf gloves or not. However, it is advisable to have and use both. There are also golf courses that do not have a dress code and so you might need to call earlier to confirm.

Play as it lies

This is one of the most important rules of golf. It simply means that you should not touch or move the ball. You have to play the ball in whatever state you find it.
